Optimizing Expansion and Maintenance with a 3D Model of Groningen Electrical Substation
The electrical substation in Groningen was planned for further expansion, necessitating the creation of a 3D model of the entire site to facilitate future expansion and maintenance activities.
To achieve this, the entire area was scanned using a static laser scanner. The scanned point clouds obtained from this process were subsequently used to create a detailed 3D model of the as-built structure. This model accurately represented the current state of the substation, providing a reliable foundation for future modifications and maintenance.
In addition, the electrical components of the substation were meticulously modeled as various loadable families. This approach ensured that each component could be easily manipulated and integrated within the overall 3D model, enhancing the accuracy and usability of the model for planning and operational purposes.
